The Widows' Grant

Covid-19 Update

We have changed the way we will pay the  widow's grant. We will not be paying you in person at Oulton Institute in January, so please do not attend. Instead, we will hand deliver your cheque to your home address.

To qualify for the widows' grant, you need to have been widowed whilst living in the area and you still need to be living nearby.

The amount of the grant changes each year depending on the number of applicants. For example, in recent years it has been between £30 and £40.

To apply you need to complete an application form which can be downloaded from this website or collected from Londis at Beechwood. Applications need to be made by 31st December.

Once you have applied and been accepted you will be eligible from then on - you don’t need to complete a new form every year.

The grant is paid out every year  between January and February, and will be hand delivered to your home address.

The grant is paid out every year, and will be hand delivered to your home address sometime between  January and early February.
